Probation
All GMs are on a three month probation from the date they become a GM - within this timeframe your activity will be closely monitored by your head GMs. People found to be inferior GMs will be removed quickly during this period.
Mistakes due to ignorance are tolerated - after all, how else do you learn However, GMs showing bias, racism, a mean streak, or GMs who antagonize the server population too much will be removed.
GM conduct:
Do *not* give/sell items to your non-gm characters or any other player's characters, ever (see exception below). It gets you fired. This is in fact the most common reason we fire GMs. If you are giving a player an item for legit purposes, please log it on here and PM it to Jesus as well. No spawning mobs, npcs, items, gameobjects, ANYTHING on the servers - ever.
Playing the game with your GM character:
Do *not* play the game with the GM characters, have a legit account for playing the game. GM chars are for testing bugs and for helping people. The exception to this is an event but ATM no GM is permitted to hold events Except Jesus and Illmatar
Negative Player Problems:
Do not use the kick command on players from the server, teleport them without their permission or cast spells on them without their permission. If any reason comes up that you lose your acount or powers, you have to wait till it is fixed, you can not ask other staff to put commands on you of any kind, you play as a player untill further notice.
The exception to this is if someone is being a real troublemaker, please take them somewhere private to talk in private - Just remember to return them when you are done speaking with them! If someone is doing something really bad then ban them and log it with reason, do not kick or kill them please!
Manners:
Always be polite to players, even if they are not. This is important. You *can* be polite even when you are banning players or de-leveling. Example: "I'm sorry, but that sort of language is not allowed, and I really doubt that you did that to my mother with a broomstick. Since you were warned five minutes ago about this, I have no choice but to remove some of your levels as punishment."
Confidential Information:
As a GM you will at times be in knowledge of information that is private - examples are future fixes, punishments, Gm recommendations, donator information, players account information and new custom areas. Release of this information to the public without the express consent of the head GMs is strictly forbidden, and can result in your termination.
Twilight Server Contest Rewards: [No Events Used by GMs ATM]
A prize of 10 levels to a player under level 150 or 5 level to a player over 150 or a single non custom epic or lower item can be handed out during a large event to a grand champion and a blue or lower item can be given out to up to ten other winners. For small Events you are able to give out upto 200 Gold and 3 levels.
Offtime and Privacy:
Do *not* feel that you have to play with your GM account all the time. If you want a break, simply relog as a non-gm account. If people want help while you are in as a player, it's up to you to decide if you want to relog as a GM or ignore it.
If someone is whispering you constantly and it's affecting your ability to work, you cannot punish them! Just use /ignore.
Punishment Logging:
If you punish someone for a serious rule infractions that requires a ban, ensure that (a) you have screen shot proof and (b) you post it here in the GM section, we need a log of who was punished and why. This is pretty important since many players contest their punishments, and it is easy for owner and the head GMs to tell the player to get stuffed when we have wonderful screen shots of their wrongdoing
You do not need to log punishments such as Delevels for PvP killing in leveling zones and for begging. Basically if you consider the offense to be serious enough for a ban then please post it in the GM forum to enable us all to know about it. 90% of people who get banned come crying to Me about it.
Begging:
Excessive begging is not allowed, but it isn't like they are setting off a bomb in stormwind. Warn, then delevel, then lock the account and report it in the GM punishment area for locked accounts as a max offense (unless the user break other rules)
Punishments order:
* warn and/or remove a couple of levels
* remove a couple of levels
* remove more levels (up tp 25% of their levels if it is something really terrible)
* lock players account send report to Head GM
* Either Head GM or Insain will determin Ban No one escept Insain or Head Gm will Ban players for now.
Pimped Character:
The whole idea of pimped chars is now under review
.
Final Note:
We have logs. Complete logs of what you do when on the servers. Remember that, it's really critical. You are the "finger of God" on this server, please act like it. Be decisive, professional, and confident. Do not take abuse from players, and don't give abuse to players. You will find that this is a largely thankless job, however there are times when it's all worthwhile.
Thank you,
Jesus
